Funcom’s relaunch of The Secret World as Secret World Legends will finally see the light of Agartha next month, with an official Steam launch scheduled for 26th June of this year. Along with going from buy-to-play to fully free-to-play, Funcom are stlying the relaunch as being “reimagined as a shared-world role-playing game” with more focus on the player’s experience uncovering the vast storyline
Secret World Legends features a revamped combat system, newly designed progression system, updated visuals, and more. You can choose to explore and uncover the story by yourself, or you can team up with other players. In the game’s central hub, Agartha, you can meet and socialize with hundreds of other players, while player population in the adventure areas beyond will be tightly controlled to make sure that the experience is as immersive as possible and that the focus remains on you and your journey.

The video shows a few developers from Funcom (Executive Producer Scott Junior, Game Director Romain Amiel and Community Manager Andy Benditt) describing the changes brought to Secret World Legends – including reticule-based combat and the retooling of Agartha as a central quest hub from which teams will set out to discovered the globe-spanning story. They also share that Legends will bring with it a continuation of the original planned story past the current Tokyo plot present in The Secret World.
