Today saw the announcement of a new Pokémon game for the Nintendo Switch, Pokémon: Let’s Go, which wouldn’t normally be of note for us at MMO Central, but the news also came with details of a planned integration with the popular augmented reality MMO, Pokémon GO.
There is a deep connection between Pokémon GO and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! For one thing, Pokémon originally discovered in the Kanto region that you have caught in Pokémon GO can be brought into these two new Nintendo Switch games. That’s not all, though. Look forward to more details at a later date.
The trailer for Pokémon: Let’s Go also shows that communication is two ways, with a “present” being sent from a Switch into Pokémon GO. Speaking of the trailer, let’s watch, shall we…
Details have also come out for the new peripheral for Pokémon: Let’s Go a in the form of the “Poké Ball Plus” – a motion controller that will work both for Pokémon™: Let’s Go and for Pokémon GO (in the same manner as a Pokémon GO Plus).
Each will be available from November 16, 2018 (the day before my birthday, so guess what I want this year!)
